Representatives from the International Relations Offices from all the partners’ universities attended a 2-day training held at the Princess Sumaya University of Technology in Amman, Jordan on 30 September-01 October 2015. The training was held in a two-folded approach. The first day two groups formed in advance, took part to sessions led by EU partners on how preparing, submitting and managing both technically and financially a European funded project (Erasmus+ as a main focus but also good practices from TEMPUS projects were mentioned). The groups of trainers and trainees were changed for the afternoon session in order to allow all participants to have a global view on the experiences of the European universities. A wrap-up meeting with all attendees allowed for further exchanges on the outcomes of the sessions.
The second day was dedicated in the morning to the effective implementation and management of an international project management office and the different possible models: within the IRO or as a separate department; while in the afternoon the development, objective and technical implementation of the Open Virtual Platform to support the enhancement of internationalisation was discussed with all partners. This was led by Carinthia University of Applied Science (CUAS), Princess Sumaya University of Technology (PSUT) and the University of Barcelona. In addition, CUAS and PSUT as the two institutions responsible of the setting up of this platform also had the chance to hold parallel meeting and further discuss all related technicalities.
